MHIC Closes $8.8MM LIHTC Investment to 4 Mellen Street

We are thrilled to announce that last Friday MHIC officially closed a $8.8 million LIHTC investment to 4 Mellen Street! This equity investment will fund the redevelopment of an underutilized property into a 29-unit, 100% affordable rental development located just outside Harvard Square in Cambridge.

On Tuesday, leaders from philanthropy, state and local government, and the community development sector gathered at the Barr Foundation to explore how we can drive more capital into the preservation of Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) across Eastern Massachusetts through MHIC’s Regional NOAH Fund.

MHIC's New Markets Tax Credit Allocation to Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology, Inc.

MHIC closed a $7,000,000 New Markets Tax Credit Allocation to the Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology 'ConnCAT' today! This investment will support the construction and operation of a 65,000-square-foot, multi-tenant community services building, hosting workforce training, affordable childcare, mental and behavioral healthcare, as well as economic development initiatives.
