MHIC President and CEO Moddie Turay Presents at the Harvard Graduate School of Design

MHIC President and CEO, Moddie Turay, addressed the Housing and Urbanization class at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design this past Tuesday. He spoke about the critical role of CDFIs in housing and community development with a particular focus on MHIC’s work. A special thanks to Jim Stockard and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design for engaging with MHIC and our President and CEO for this fall’s Housing and Urbanization class.

Moddie challenged the students to consider a compelling question: What happens if this project does not move forward? That question framed much of the discussion and helps guide the underlying logic of MHIC’s investment decisions. The session also featured excellent engagement from the class, as students asked thoughtful questions about the products MHIC offers and how aspects of tax credits work.

It was especially meaningful for Moddie to return to Harvard, where in 2022 he was enrolled in the Loeb Fellowship at Harvard Graduate School of Design. His visit brought full circle an impactful time at the school and reinforced MHIC’s commitment to advancing housing equity in our region and beyond.
