The project involves the preservation of a single high rise multifamily building containing 45 units. The property was significantly repaired and upgraded. All 45 units are covered under a 20-year Section 8 HAP contract which was renewed in August 2021. All 45 units is affordable to households at or below 50% AMI, with 18 units further targeted to households at or below 30% AMI. The property is well located within the City of Springfield and offers convenient access to the business, cultural, medical, and recreational opportunities of Springfield, as well as easy access to public transportation routes and area highways, including Route 291 within a mile and Route 91 within 1.5 miles. There are Pioneer Valley Transit Authority bus stops along State Street adjacent to the property, providing access to downtown Springfield and additional areas of employment, shopping, entertainment, and other residential linkages. The area is also well known for its colleges and universities, including Springfield College, AIC, and Springfield Technical Community College.
