The project will involve the demolition of an existing, obsolete one-story commercial building on Union Street in downtown New Bedford and new construction of a five-story mixed-use building. The project will create 52 mixed-income units and approximately 4,000 sq ft of 1st floor retail space. The units will be affordable to residents with a range of incomes: 8 units for Extremely Low-Income households (at or below 30% AMI), 36 for Low Income households (at or below 60% AMI) and 8 units for moderate-income households (80% AMI). The project will also include construction of a 4,000 sq. ft retail commercial space on the building’s ground floor.
