The project involves the new construction of 48 units of affordable rental housing for seniors. The development includes a newly constructed 5-story building on vacant land adjacent to the existing Merrivista property, a senior residential building containing 147 units controlled by the sponsor. The units at Merrimack Place is 100% affordable to senior households, with 24 units for households earning up to 60% of AMI, eight units for households earning up to 50% AMI and 16 units for households earning at or below 30% AMI. The site is located just outside Haverhill’s downtown district and within walking distance of a grocery store, the Haverhill public library and medical services. The building also contains 7,000 square feet of public meeting space, staff offices, conference areas and a wellness center on the first floor.
