The new Y, to be constructed on a lot adjacent to the existing Y is the major component of a major redevelopment that also includes the rehabilitation of the existing Y in a subsequent phase. The total project will support the health and social well-being of the community with state of the art fitness, aquatics, sports, family and community program facilities. The new building will house a wellness center, family adventure and child watch center, family aquatics center, triple-size gymnasium, indoor track, a commercial kitchen, locker rooms and ample community meeting space. Co-CDEs are MassDevelopment and Boston Community Capital; and Capital One will be investor and the 4th co-CDE. Total QEI is $21.5 million.
