This historic renovation is developed from a vacant and distressed historic asset property building, a former Shoe and Leather Associates building in the City's Downtown Smart Growth Overlay District. This project is located in a desirable pedestrian-friendly, transit-oriented area surrounded by other recently developed mixed-use properties, and directly adjacent to the downtown Haverhill commuter rail station and parking garage. This development results in 62 new units of mixed income housing and ground floor retail space. This development is key to the ongoing revitalization of the gateway city of Haverhill.
