This mixed-use project is the first phase of the proposed redevelopment of the Jackson Square neighborhood of Boston. It is part of a Jackson Square Master Plan, developed through a multi-year effort, which comprises in total 430 units of housing and 60,000 square feet of retail and community space. This phase involves new construction of a 6-story masonry structure with five floors of residential space (103 units), one level of ground floor retail, and two levels of parking. Revitalization of the Jackson Square Neighborhood has been a priority of the City of Boston for the past decade. An element of the City’s effort has included infrastructure improvements and commitments of financing subsidies. Construction of 225 Center Street will create approximately 168 construction jobs over 18 months and at least 19 full-time jobs in the commercial project space once the project is completed.
