This Transit Oriented Development is a model project for integrated, sustainable design. It was built by Homeowner’s Rehab Inc. on the former site of the city’s trolley car barns. It has 40 units of low-income housing (8 homeownership and 32 affordable rental units). Trolley Square also features 2,800 square feet of a commercial/community space, 4,100 square feet of open space and a 42-space below-grade parking garage. It was constructed with a multitude of “Green” features and has been recognized nationally with an Enterprise Green Communities Award.
