It involves acquisition and rehabilitation of a 5-story building consisting of 44 apartments. The building was originally a hotel, rehabilitation in 1986 under the HUD 202/Section 8 program. All 44 one-bedroom apartments will be affordable to households at or below 60% of median income. All are covered by a 20 year Section 8 contract which will expire in October 2004. It is anticipated that the Section 8 contract will be renewed by HUD for 20 years.
