For many years, the First Baptist Church of Beverly operated a congregate care facility in this beautiful old building in Beverly's Monument Square. To meet the changing needs of the low-income elderly population in this North Shore community, the Church converted the building into a single room occupancy facility. The work involved considerable renovation to create 35 units. The project was completed in 1999.
