New construction of a four-story 
affordable housing development in the 
Bowdoin-Geneva area of Dorchester with 
41 apartments, first floor commercial 
space to house the Dorchester 
Community Food Co-op, and an open 
plaza. 

Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation (DBEDC) is sponsoring the renovation and preservation of Dudley Terrace Apartments, five buildings containing 56 apartments scattered throughout the Uphams Corner and Savin Hill neighborhoods of Dorchester. These buildings, one of which is a historic preservation property, have been long-term homes for many of the residents. Originally constructed between 1890 and 1925, the buildings range from three to four stories, and include a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments totaling over 57,000 square feet. They are within easy reach of public transportation and major routes, and one property includes a neighborhood market on the ground floor. The project renovations include major upgrades to the occupied spaces, improved ventilation, windows, and exterior repairs.

The Rosewood Way project comprises the new construction of 10 townhome-style buildings containing 62 units, and a standalone community building. The project will increase the supply of affordable and mixed-income housing in a suburban area with a high demand for affordable rental housing, but limited affordable housing stock.

Curtis Apartments Phase I includes the demolition of 3 existing buildings containing 90 units and current property management offices to construct 129 new residential rental apartments.

Metro West Collaborative Development is creating 48 affordable rental homes in Medway, MA, the first phase of Glen Brook Way. Phase I of the project includes the development of four buildings on one 3.2-acre site. The buildings will provide 17 one-bedroom units, 20 two-bedroom units, and 11 threebedroom units, as well as parking. Five units will be fully accessible. Community amenities include a tot lot, bicycle parking, laundry facilities in every building and ample storage. Upon completion of Phase II, all residents will have access to a community room with a kitchen, patio, and barbecue area.

The Van Der Heyden project involves the preservation of a single high rise multifamily building containing 45 units.

The Elmont Norwell Scattered Sites are 15 housing units across 9 redeveloped scattered-site, vacant, city-owned parcels, including 9 affordable single-family and duplex homeownership units, 3 owner-occupied buildings each with 1 rental unit (3 rental total).

New construction containing 38 affordable homes, phase 1 of a larger initiative which 
will offer 39 additional homes and a community/education center.
