MHIC's New Markets Tax Credit Allocation to Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology, Inc.

We are thrilled to announce the closing of MHIC's $7,000,000 New Markets Tax Credit Allocation to the Connecticut Center for Arts and Technology 'ConnCAT' today! This investment will support the construction and operation of a 65,000-square-foot, multi-tenant community services building, hosting workforce training, affordable childcare, mental and behavioral healthcare, as well as economic development initiatives by Yale University.

The new facility will provide workforce training, after-school and summer enrichment programs for 450 students and unemployed youth, create 68 new childcare seats, expand behavioral health services for 1,460 children and families, and produce 78 new full-time jobs. This project is the first of a multi-phase development serving as a mixed-use commercial, residential, and cultural hub.

Thank you to Broadstreet Impact Services, Nolan Sheehan Patten LLP, and CohnReznick , your work and determination has been vital in closing this project. We are excited to see the impact this project will have on the Dixwell-Newhallville community and are proud to be part of it.
