We are thrilled to announce that on Friday we closed an $8 million New Markets Tax Credit Allocation to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell, providing critical gap funding to support the Club’s effort to renovate and expand their existing facility.
The Club provides a safe, nurturing environment with access to enriching services, workforce development, and opportunities designed to end generational poverty in Lowell. The expansion would allow the Club to double their capacity to serve over 450 teens and youth a day and includes the construction of a new Teen Center, a new kitchen, and the reclamation of the former pool into a 6,000 square foot community center and café. The project will also create 35 new quality jobs while retaining over 32 existing full-time positions.
A huge thank you to Northern Trust and Enterprise Bank (Enterprise Bancorp), your support was instrumental during this project. We look forward to seeing the completion of this expansion and the positive impact it will have on the Lowell Community.
