On Wednesday morning, Jamaica Plain’s newest housing development officially began construction! MHIC is one of the many funders of Cheney Homes, a 48-home income-restricted building for seniors aged 55+. Additionally, there will be a first-floor community service center offering PACE and resident support services to help seniors age in place with dignity.
We’re proud to work on our fourth project with Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation to bring healthy homes to the community. We contributed a $13.97 million equity investment through our MHEF Social Impact Fund I, and we’re also participating in the construction loan alongside Eastern Bank.
A huge thanks to John-Paul Vachon for leading our efforts on this project, and to the Jamaica Plain community for including us in their vision.
