The new food hub will the new home for Farm Fresh Rhode Island, whose primary business is to operate eleven Farmers Markets statewide. The project will be a purpose-built facility that incorporates design and energy efficiencies, ample loading docks, refrigeration packing rooms, and teaching gardens. Farm Fresh will mster lease the entire facility, occupy 28,386 nsf for farmers markets, its ancillary programs, and administration. The remainder of the space, comprising 9 demised spaces, Fresh Fresh will sub-lease to companies in the food and agriculture businesses interested in co-locating with the famers markets. Co-CDEs are Brownfield Revitalization LLC and Capital One, who is also the investor.
