The Saunders School project involved the adaptive reuse of a vacant 3-story historic school building to create 16 two-bedroom units of rental housing. On-site and collaborative services include affordable child care, job training, ESOL training, employment-search support, educational programming and other services to support families seeking to re-integrate into the community and achieve self-sufficiency. The building also includes an enclosed play space and sitting area for building residents. All units are affordable to households at or below 30% AMI. The project also received low-income and historic tax credits.
